If you have purchased Diadora soccer cleats before, you know that they are all about exceptional comfort, great performance, and durability. The Stile LT 10 K MG 14 is no exception. Retailing in the $90 range, they are an excellent soccer shoe, easily matching up against socer boots which cost much, much more, such as Nike's Superfly, which sells for two times as much, sometimes more.
There are several variations of the Stile line. The Stile LT 10 MD 14 sells for about $30 less than the LT 10 K MG 14. The lower end shoe is still well made, but uses traditional full grain leather instead of kangaroo leather. On the high end of the model line is the Stile LT 10 K-Pro MG 14. The top of the line shoe has some upgrades on the innersole and is advertised as being lightweight.
I bought the LT 10 K MG 14. It is a professional quality shoe and should suit just about any player. It is super soft, with a kangaroo leather upper. The shoes way about 10.4 ounces each. The cleat configuration consists of 14 fixed, rounded studs. They provide good traction on artificial turf as well as natural grass, wet or dry.
Many people have opinions on Daidora sizing. There are groups of people who say Diadoras run large. I think this was true more so when the shoes were made in Italy. Nowadays most of the shoes are made in Indonesia. There are also people who claim Diadora's run small. I have been buying Diadora products for years and years and have never known that to be the case. I would say the Stile runs pretty true to size, leaning slightly to running large. However, I think the shoe construction more so than the actual dimensions have always been what make people say the Diadoras run big. The kangaroo leather is so soft to begin with, and needs very little break in. So I think when people put on a pair of new Diadoras they mistake instant comfort for perhaps being a little too big. Most soccer shoes require more break in and feel tighter when first tried on compared to Diadoras. I used them in game play only a day or two after first putting them on and they are typical Diadora. The best way to describe the Diadora comfort is that after the game you just leave them on, no feeling you have to get them off or put on slides or anything.
I find the Diadora to be a form fitting, very comfortable soccer cleat. I typically wear a size 9 ½ cleat and a size 10 street shoe. I bought a size 9 ½ Stile and it fits perfectly.
Syle wise, the Stile LT 10 K MG 14 has a clean look. It has a conventional lacing configuration, unlike its little brother the Maracana, which uses a narrow and slightly off center design, allowing for more closure on the laces and increased striking surface. I own the Diadora Maracana shoe as well and for an offensive, very active footwork style, I actually prefer the less expensive Maracana. The Stile comes in black with white logo, or white with a gold, almost greenish, logo/trim. Diadora tends to avoid bright shoes.
The band which secures the tongue is good quality. About my only knock on the shoes is the extreme length of the Diadora laces. They are made to wrap around the cleat but that's really not necessary. I end up overlapping mine under the secured tongue.
Durability wise these shoes hold up well over a season and much more. They take well to getting wet and drying out, as the kangaroo leather is naturally water resistant, and inner soles are removable to air out. I have other shoes, which although comfortable, have fallen apart more quickly. Many of my Adidas cleats have held up well, but not quite as long as the Diadoras. And the Stile blows the Nike Superfly out of the water for durability.
If you want a pro level cleat for high school or college or pro play, the Stile LT 10 K MG 14 is an excellent choice at a cost far, far below most shoes of the same quality. For recreational to high school play, you may want to give the somewhat less expensive Diadora Maracana a try.
